The London Borough of Croydon is vibrant, diverse and welcoming because of the people who live in it and we all take enormous pride in that fact. That’s why, as a Croydon-based corporate affairs consultancy employing local people, we are very proud to have sponsored and worked with Croydon PrideFest on Saturday.
Partnering with this event ensures we show our commitment to a great celebration that is growing in Croydon year-on-year. In its third year running, Croydon PrideFest has become a firm fixture on the LGBT+ calendar in Greater London. And what a party it was!
Starting with a very colourful parade from North End on Croydon High Street, representatives from Nudge Factory were delighted to join the parade and support it with communications and support services. The parade went very smoothly; banners were proudly held aloft, flags flown prominently and some great brass band music rang out on Croydon’s streets. It was then followed with an amazing festival atmosphere in Wandle Park, after the parade, with thousands taking part for music, food, drinks and dancing.
The great acts included Asifa Lahore, star of Channel 4’s ‘Muslim Drag Queens’, and singer songwriter Christopher Haul. They hosted the event in the afternoon and evening respectively. Other superb acts on the main stage included the 10-piece steel band Endurance; Scarlett; Lady Unicorn; Bugeye; Trans-Siberian March Band; Tin; Q; Angie Brown; tribute band Abalicious; and cabaret performer and singer Danny Beard.
PrideFest was great. And long may it continue, here’s to PrideFest 2019!
